Welcome to the Veteran March of Sacrifices dungeon guide! (vMoS)
This walkthrough will mainly focus on doing March of Sacrifices on Veteran difficulty, both Hard Mode (HM) and non-HM included!
If you are on normal difficulty, it will all be the same only a lot more forgiving. If you are doing it on normal, pay attention to the mechanics even though you don’t have to, it will prepare you for veteran difficulty.
March of Sacrifices is one of the harder dungeons in the game and will require your undivided attention. Make sure you understand the mechanics and what you are supposed to do.

Dangerous Trash Monsters
Blaze Lurcher

Blaze lurchers are not too bad, just make sure tank has aggro as they perform nasty heavy attacks.
Wispmother

Wispmothers are fairly straightforward but they do place small AOEs all over the ground, so stay clear of those and focus fire on it.
Sea Lurcher

Sea Lurchers are nasty. They perform cone attacks so face them away from the group.
They also perform a HUGE AOE attack, everyone needs to BLOCK this. Don’t try to avoid it, you won’t make it.
First Boss: Wyress Sisters

The first boss in March of Sacrifices is actually three bosses. Don’t worry, if done correctly it’s not too tricky! We need to understand the kill order and how we position ourselves.
This fight consists of the three sisters and should be killed in the following order:
- 1st: Wyress Rangifier (Healer)
- 2nd: Wyress Strigidae (Archer)
- 3rd: Wyress Ursus (Melee)
Overview:
- Keep the sisters ON THE ISLAND! If any of them get into the water, the fight resets.
- Keep the sisters apart – if they touch each other’s auras, they will buff each other.
- Ursus (melee) will randomly charge at players – make sure to roll-dodge this if you are targeted, you will have half a second to react if you are far away enough.
- Strigidae (Archer) will channel a snipe at a random player, she needs to be interrupted when doing this. A ranged interrupt is very handy here. If she is left uninterrupted, get ready to roll-dodge the incoming arrow.
- Tank should be holding Ursus (melee) and range taunting Strigidae (Archer), leave the healer be.
Approach and positioning
The tank should range taunt the archer (Strigidae) and run over to the melee sister (Ursus). The rest of the group should stay with Rangifier (healer) and kill her first. The tank will NOT be taunting Rangifier, so one of you will have aggro, keep some heals up for this.
Make sure someone has a ranged interrupt to stop the archer from channeling her snipe ability. And watch out for Ursus charge, she will charge a random player so be ready to roll-dodge.
See the map below for further instructions on positioning for this fight.
Mechanics
Auras
Each sister has a ring surrounding her, if any other sister touches another aura, she will be buffed with the following:
- Green: Increased resistance for nearby sisters.
- Blue: Affects all players inside it with silence magic (you can’t cast any spells including ultimate).
- White: Increased healing received for nearby sisters.
Needless to say, we need to keep them away from each other.
When a sister dies, she will turn into a spirit animal and keep the aura. The spirit animals seem to move around randomly but will mostly stand still close to another sister. Make sure to keep the sisters still alive out of the spirit animals’ aura.
Wyress Rangifier (Healer sister)
The healer is the weakest of the three sisters, she will however heal her other sisters, this is why we want to deal with her first. She won’t cause you too much trouble, the tank won’t be taunting her but she doesn’t deal a lot of damage so you should be fine. Just keep damaging her until she is down.
The threat right now isn’t the healer herself but rather her other sisters. While working on the healer, make sure you are ready to roll-dodge the melee sister’s charge and interrupt the archer when she is channeling.
Wyress Strigidae (Archer sister)
Your second target will be the archer, she is a pain in the bum for melee damage dealers as her aura silences you. She will randomly teleport to players and attack, it’s not very strong though, just a bit annoying.
She does have a cone arrow spray, if you are positioned correctly as seen in the map above, you won’t have to worry about it as she will be targeting the tank with this attack.

Tank – make sure you keep your range taunt active on her at all times, we don’t want her targeting her cone arrow spray on the group!
Make sure to interrupt her channeling ability, she will channel her snipe attack and one-shot any player that gets hit including the tank (unless you block). It can be roll-dodged but it’s best to avoid altogether by interrupting it. A ranged interrupt is preferable here.

Wyress Ursus (Melee sister)
Lastly, we will deal with Ursus. Throughout the fight she will charge players, you have to roll-dodge this, a block will not save you if you are squishy. She will perform heavy attacks on the tank which will need to be blocked, make sure you don’t lose aggro on her as she will wreak havoc on your party members!
Once the other sisters are down, the fight is quite easy. She will still perform her charge attack though so be prepared to roll-dodge at all times! Other than that, keep blocking her heavy attacks tank and let the damage dealers finish up.
Second Boss: Aghaedh of the Solstice

The second boss in March of Sacrifices is not a DPS race, but if you have high enough DPS, you can skip all the mechanics and burn the boss, which many PUGs will do. However, we can still beat her quite easily if we apply the right method and play the mechanics even with low DPS! Let’s take a look.
Overview:
- The tank should taunt the boss and all Lurchers that spawn.
- We can completely ignore the stranglers surrounding the area.
- The Lurchers play a main part in the mechanics, make sure you understand the section about the colored rings!
- All damage should be focused on the Lurchers as they spawn, they are priority number one!
Mechanics
Lurchers, Colored Rings and Mega Blast
The boss will eventually charge up a very powerful attack that will kill everyone including the tank. To survive this, we need to use the colored rings surrounding the little island.

Four Lurchers will spawn, each will have a different color. These colors will match the colors seen in the rings on the ground. When you kill a Lurcher, it will drop a little colored essence that you can synergize with, once you do this, your character will start shimmering with that color.

To survive the big AOE nuke from the boss, you need to stand in a ring on the ground that matches the color of your aura. Ie, if you pick up the green essence from the green Lurcher, you have to stand in the green ring.

The tank should pick up the first color essence that drops, and the healer should grab the next. This way, if you don’t get the other two Lurchers, you will have a good chance at surviving as the healer can resurrect while the tank is holding aggro.
Dealing with Lurchers
The Lurchers can become quite overwhelming. Don’t waste your ultimates on the boss, you want to save that for the Lurchers. If you get overwhelmed with Lurchers and you can’t handle them, at least try to focus down two of them so that the tank and healer can grab an Aura each. The Lurchers will die from the boss’ big AOE attack, the healer can then resurrect the damage dealers after the big bang. Now you can keep damaging the boss.
Stranglers
You can completely ignore the stranglers on the sides, just stay away from them, keep close to the middle of the fight area and you won’t be attacked by them. There is no reason to eliminate the Stranglers, just focus on the boss and the Lurchers.
On your way to the next boss you will encounter some Wispmothers and Sea Lurchers. Make sure to deal with one group at a time here, it’s very common to wipe in this area. Remember to block the Sea Lurchers big AOE attack!
Third Boss: Dagrund the Bulky

The third boss in March of Sacrifices can be quite annoying. This is where a lot of PUGs (pick up groups) fall apart. You need to be a little coordinated to beat this boss, so let’s dive in!
Overview:
- Adds will be spawning all over the battle area and will always be the highest priority for the damage dealers. They will keep coming so make sure you deal with them!
- When Dagrund jumps up in the air he will fire an attack at everyone, spread out, and roll-dodge straight through the little ball chasing you to survive.
- Tank – do NOT lose aggro on the main boss at any point, he deals a lot of damage. Try and chain pull in some adds if you can, it will help a lot.
Dagrund’s Upheaval (Balls chasing you)
Dagrund will jump up in the air for a moment and the slam into the ground, sending out either waves of fire, lightning bolts or ice-bolts that will chase you. It is a one-shot for non-tanks so don’t just ignore this.

As soon as you see him jump up, make sure to spread out a little and don’t stack. When you see either the fireball or lightning bolt chasing you, roll-dodge straight into it and through it. Running around will not save you, neither will blocking (the tank can block this). It feels unnatural to dive straight into it, but it is the absolute best way to survive this attack.
Boss special attacks
The boss will swipe his sword and shoot out three flames on the ground that keep bouncing around to room for a while, simply avoid these, they move fairly slow and are quite visible. They deal a ton of damage if they hit you so stay light on your feet.

At around 75% health the boss will change his attack into ice spikes and gusts of wind. Now he will stick his sword into the ground instead of swiping. Ice spikes will shoot out from underneath the ground and gusts of wind will start moving around the area similar to the flames before. Do your best to avoid these, while focusing on adds and damaging the boss.

At 55% health the boss will change his attack again and start targeting everyone with lightning strikes, they don’t deal lots of damage but the healer will need to stay alert during this. Make sure to not stray too far from your healer but don’t stack, stacking will increase the damage a lot!

At 35% health the boss will start randomly choosing from all the three attacks seen above, one at a time though, you won’t get all of them simultaneously, so no worries.
Adds
Archers will be spawning throughout the fight and will definitely wipe your group if not dealt with. Damage dealers should always prioritize the adds over the main boss. Since they are archers, they will be standing from afar shooting at you. It’s very helpful if the tank chain pulls some of them in close to the boss.
On your way to the next boss you will again encounter groups of Wispmothers and Sea Lurchers, same idea as the section before the third boss. Deal with them on at a time and remember to block the Sea Lurchers heavy AOE attacks.
Fourth Boss: Tarcyr

The fourth boss in March of Sacrifices is an interesting one, not too difficult however once we know what to do. Definitely some interesting mechanics on this one!
Overview:
- When Tarcyr begins to hunt, all players must crouch/sneak and remain in sneak mode until she is done hunting.
- During Tarcyr’s hunt, the wisp moving around the area will eventually stop and form a green circle, a player must step into the circle and synergize with it (do this three times to end the hunt).
- Tank – make sure you have range taunt as the boss moves around a lot, and chain pull in the adds that spawn.
- Interrupt the boss when it’s stomping (the usual red sparks will appear).
Mechanics
Tarcyr’s hunt
The boss will disappear and a prompt will appear on your screen stating “Tarcyr begins to hunt”. A timer will appear counting down from 3 seconds – when this timer runs out, everyone must be in sneak mode. We should all spread out and stay around a corner each to make this phase easiest for us, don’t clump up.

A little wisp will be flying around randomly in the fight area, it will eventually stop and form a green circle. One player must enter the green circle and synergize with it. This is why we want to spread out, we don’t know where the wisp will stop, by spreading out, we can quickly reach the green circle.

We need to repeat this three times, at that point, Tarcyr stops hunting and returns and the fight is resumed, you can now leave sneak mode.
Tarcyr will hunt three times during this fight at the following health percentages:
75% – 50% – 20%
During the first hunt, there will be Elk spirits running across the area, if you touch any of these Tarcyr finds you and you will be teleported to the middle of the area. If you get hit three times, you will die. There will also be ice spikes coming out of the ground, the same thing applies to these, stay away from them!
During the second hunt, two players will have a large lightning AOE around them, this is fine, but do not stack with this ring or you will break your sneak!
On the third hunt, you will have all of the above but flames will also be flying around the room. Now you have a lot of things to avoid! Do your best at avoiding everything while trying to synergize with the wisp as quickly as possible to get out of this mess!
Adds
The damage dealers must focus on the adds at all cost. There will be adds spawning throughout the fight, make sure to deal with them immediately! But more importantly, interrupt them when they are channeling! If you don’t an ally will be trapped and needs to be freed by an ally or they will die. A trapped ally will have a green circle around them so it’s easy to spot. You will also get a prompt on your screen.
To free a trapped ally, move up to them and synergize, make sure to do this quickly! You don’t have much time before they go down.
Lightning strikes (interrupt)

The boss will start stomping the ground and everyone will be hit by lightning strikes. You must interrupt the boss quickly when this is happening or you will wipe. The damage is increased with every lightning strike so you will eventually wipe if you don’t interrupt the boss.
Fire trail
The boss will start running around leaving a trail of fire, not a big deal but adds to the chaos. Make sure to stay out of the fire as it hurts a lot.
Final Boss: Balorgh

The last boss in March of Sacrifices is quite straight forward once you know the mechanics, but it’s a complete nightmare on hard-mode. But first, let’s look at the standard veteran version.
Overview:
- Balorgh will enrage, everything will turn misty and a random player will be targeted and chased by the boss. RUN! You must lead the boss into a trap, the trap can be seen by a shiny blue light through the mist.
- You will either have poison spores on the islands – stay in the water when this happens.
- Or the water will become electrified, stay on the island when that happens.
- Tank – make sure to face the boss AWAY from the group, he has nasty cone attacks.
- Make sure to clear the small wolf adds as a priority, they will chew up squishy players quickly.
Mechanics
Balorgh’s enrage (dark mist)
Balorgh will enrage and everything will turn dark and misty. A random player will be chased by the boss, if you are being chased, a red circle will appear under your feet. Make sure to put some distance between you and the boss, he will one-shot you if he gets too close.

You need to lead him into a trap set up by the NPC – it will appear through the mist as a shining blue light. It takes a moment for him to set up the trap so keep running around while looking for the trap. Once you’ve spotted the trap, start running towards it, you will find a trap on the ground.

Do NOT stop on the trap, keep running, remember – the boss needs to step INTO the trap to end his enrage. So make sure you lead him straight into the trap. Once the boss gets trapped, the enrage ends and the fight returns to normal.
Balorg will enrage at the following health percentages:
80% – 60% – 40% – 20% – 5%
Poisonous spores and electric water
The boss will alternate between putting out poisonous spores on the little islands and electrifying the water.

When the islands get filled with poison, everyone needs to stay in the water. When the water gets electrified, you all need to move onto an island. It’s easy to keep track of this as the boss will never do the same thing twice in a row, he will always alternate between the two.
Adds (mini wolves)
The small wolves are a bit annoying, do your best to trap them, snare them and nuke them with AOE, try to not get surrounded as they will chew you up quite quickly!
The wolves only spawn during the enrage phase and will slow you if they bite you, try to roll-dodge away from them if you are being chased and get to the trap!
As soon as the enrage phase is over, everyone should stack up to pull in the small wolves and deal with the as quickly as possible. I suggest saving up Ultimates for this part.
At 20% boss health the wolves will keep spawning. At this point you should ignore the adds and focus all damage on the boss and finish off the fight.
Cone shout
The boss will perform a massive shout attack (cone AOE), the tank should stand still and block through this. Do NOT start running around, if the cone hits any of the other party members, they will die immediately.
Other things to keep in mind
The boss will charge, do heavy attacks and cone AOEs. Tank, you must keep aggro on him as he will wreck squishy players immediately. Make sure to always face him away from the group!
The boss will also charge up a fire AOE around him, the tank can block this but I recommend the rest of the group to step out of this.
