Dangerous Trash Monsters
Azureblight Lurcher

The tank should make sure to pick up the Lurchers first. They can one-shot squishy players and will start putting out nasty AOEs on the ground.
Kill the Lurchers first.
Azureblight Frostmage

The frostmage can almost be considered a mini boss. It will spawn Frost Atronachs and deal a bunch of AOE damage.
You don’t need to kill it. You only need to break through its shield to defeat it.
Azureblight Corruptor

Similar to the Frostmage, all you need to do is break through its shield to defeat it.
Face it away from the group and don’t lose aggro tank! It hits like a truck and performs nasty cone attacks.
First Boss: Selene

The first boss in Lair of Maarselok is Selene, she’s back! She will summon a spirit bear and a spirit spider for you to defeat.
Overview:
- Interrupt Selene when she sends out poison balls at everyone.
- Don’t attack Selene, focus on the summoned spirits.
- The tank should focus on the spirit animals, Selene can’t be taunted.
- Stay away from the small AOEs appearing under your feet – they will one-shot you.
- The fight is over once the bear and spider are defeated.
Mechanics
Poison Balls (from Selene)
Selene will teleport around the room, usually right after she teleports, she will start sending out poison balls at all players. This is interruptable and she will keep firing until someone interrupts. It’s very handy to have a ranged interrupt ability for this fight such as crushing shock.

The Bear
The fight starts with Selene summoning a big spirit bear. The tank needs to face the bear away from the group at all times as it performs nasty AOEs directed at the tank.
The bear will get up on its hind legs and slam the ground, small AOE circles will appear under everyone’s feet. Make sure to step out of these! They will one-shot you.

Stay on the bear while keeping an eye on Selene, making sure to interrupt her Poison Balls attack.
The Spider
Once the bear is down, Selene will summon a spider spirit. Once this happens, Selene will start performing a long-range cone attack at random players. If you are targeted, make sure to block and STAND STILL. We want to stand still so that your party members can get out of the way.

The spider will be spawning small spiderlings, the tank can taunt these or chain pull them. They aren’t terrible but you should make sure to take them out to not get overwhelmed. Try clumping them up around the spider and let AOEs do the job.
If your group is sturdy, I suggest ignoring the spiderlings and just keep damage on the spider, your healer will need to work a bit harder but it can speed up the fight a lot.
Tank: Watch out for heavy attacks from the spider, remember to block!
After the spider is down the fight is over and you can continue your adventure through the dungeon.
Second Boss: Azureblight Lurcher

The second boss in the Lair of Maarselok introduces a new dungeon idea in the Elder Scrolls Online. The final boss Maarselok (the dragon flying above) will be present, and your goal is to take down its health to 70%. Every other boss from this point on follows the same idea, we want to reduce Maarselok’s health so that in the end when we battle him, he has a lot less health.
Overview:
- The fight is over when Maarselok’s health reaches 70% (after you defeat the third lurcher).
- Every time you kill an Azureblight Lurcher, Maarselok’s health is reduced by 15%. This means we need to take out the Lurcher three times to win the fight.
- There will be lots of AOEs on the ground, watch out!
- You will face many adds in this battle, tank should chain pull and CC as much as possible. Make sure to focus on adds a lot, they will overrun you quickly otherwise.
Mechanics
Maarselok’s health and the Lurcher
Every time we kill the Azureblight Lurcher, Maarselok will drain his own health to revive it, he will revive it twice. Since we start out the fight with the Lurcher alive, this means we need to take out the Lurcher three times to win the fight.
Maarselok’s flame
Maarselok will dive down and spray dragon fire in a straight line, you will see a big AOE in a straight line appear before this happens. Make sure to get out of this as he will burn you to a crisp if you don’t ๐

Adds
The worst part of this fight is all the adds. You will have many different types of adds, melees and casters through the fight. Try to stick together and don’t run away on your own, the tank should pull in as many of the ranged adds as possible and CC the adds. Try to burn down as many as possible with AOE.

The adds will spawn based on the Lurcher’s health, so try going a bit slower on the boss and deal with the adds before you return damage on the boss.
The main culprit for wiping on this boss is letting the adds get out of hand.
Lurcher AOEs
The Lurcher will put out circles of dark magic on the ground. You need to avoid these as they deal quite a lot of damage. This also has the tendency to separate the group as there will be lots of AOEs everywhere. Separating is of course very bad for the adds situation, do your best to stick together.
Once you kill the Lurcher when Maarselok’s health is at 70% the fight is over and you win. You can now continue through the Dungeon.
Third Boss: Azureblight Cancroid

The third boss in Lair of Maarselok is where the difficulty ramps up. This is where most PUGs (pick up groups) will wipe. We now need to pay more attention to the mechanics than previously in this dungeon, so make sure you know what to do.
Overview:
- The Cancroid is protected by a barrier. To break the barrier, you need to kill an infestor, pick up the seed it drops and take it to the Cancroid.
- Once the barrier is down, you have a small time window to damage the Cancroid before the barrier comes back.
- Stranglers will appear throughout the fight, these are the highest kill priority as they deal tons of damage.
- Don’t stand in the big, blue circles! They will take you down fast.
Tank
You should be tanking the Infestor close to the barrier around the Cancroid, moving it slowly around (to avoid the big, blue circles). We want to keep it close to the barrier so its quick to carry the seed from the Infestor to the Cancroid.

The Infestor should be faced away from the group as it has cone AOE attacks.
Mechanics
The Seed
As mentioned above, to break the Cancroid’s barrier, we need to carry an Infestor seed to it. When we take down an Infestor, it will drop a green little seed. Walk into it to pick it up, now carry it towards the Cancroid. It’s enough to touch the barrier, you don’t need to walk all they way up to it.

As soon as you touch the barrier, it will break down and you can now start damaging the Cancroid. You definitely want to save your Ultimates for this part.

Note: If there is a Strangler alive while the barrier is down, you should still prioritize the Strangler as it can quickly wipe your group if you leave it alive.
Azureblight Infestor
You want to hold the Infestor close to the barrier so that we can quickly take the seed it drops into the barrier. Damage Dealers and healer should stay on the side of the Infestor to avoid cone AOEs but also the blue AOE circles it drops.
The Infestor will keep dropping big blue circles on the ground that you HAVE to stay out of, they deal tons of damage. Moving the Infestor around the Cancroid slowly will limit the space the blue circlers take up. Don’t run around with it or you will fill up with blue circles quickly everywhere.
Stranglers
Make sure to be on the lookout for Stranglers, they will spawn all over the battle area. As soon as one spawns, stop everything you are doing and focus it down! The tank can stay with the Infestor.

If you don’t deal with the Stranglers, they will wipe your group very quickly as they deal a lot of damage to your group!
Keep taking down the Infestors, carry the seed to the barrier and drop your Ultimates on the Cancroid. You will get the rhythm of the whole thing quite quickly. If you are wiping a lot, it’s most likely due to Stranglers not being dealt with quickly enough.
Fourth Boss: Maarselok

The fourth boss in Lair of Maarselok will be Maarselok himself, this is round 1. This fight is a bit tricky, you will have lots of adds to deal with. Selene will come to aid us in this fight though!
Overview:
- Selene will be in the middle trying to call the dragon down to the ground. Hoarvors will be running towards her, if they reach her, she will be stunned. Simply walk into a Hoarvor before it reaches Selene to have it explode on the spot.
- The Stranglers are the worst in this fight, the tank should try and pull the Lurchers to the Stranglers so that you can nuke them both with AOE.
- Selene will eventually pull down Maarselok to the ground, allowing you to deal damage to him. This is the time to drop ultimates and nuke as hard as you can.
- There will be tons of AOEs everywhere on this fight, stay alert!
- Once Maarselok reaches 50% health, the fight is over and you win.
Mechanics
Hoarvors and Selene
Selene is helping us out in this fight. Selene will be standing in the middle of the area channeling an ability attempting to pull Maarselok down to the ground so that we can damage him.

Hoarvors will be coming in from the sides attempting to reach Selene in order to stop her. We must stop the Hoarvors before they reach her. Don’t try to kill them with attacks. Simply run right into one and it will stop and explode (get away before the explosion goes off). Someone in your group should be responsible for keeping an eye on the Hoarvors and taking care of them.
Lurchers
The Lurchers don’t play a key part in this fight as in the previous fights, they are just annoying. The tank MUST keep aggro on the Lurchers as they deal a lot of damage and heavy attacks.
Take the Lurchers to any Stranglers that are up to make it easier for the damage dealers to take care of as much as possible with AOEs.
Stranglers
Stranglers will spawn in clumps next to each other. They will deal a lot of damage so this should be your highest priority to deal with. Make sure to start nuking the Stranglers as soon as you see them appear.

Note: If you are struggling with the stranglers, you can use your Ultimate on them instead of the boss. The fight will be a little longer but it might make or break your run.
Maarselok
Maarselok will be sending down fireballs from the sky when he is flying, make sure to avoid these.
Once Selene manages to pull him down to the ground, we can start attacking him. At this point you want to drop your ultimates and go max damage on him! After a little while he will take flight and Selene will start channeling to bring him down again.

Once Maarselok reaches 50% health, the fight is over and you win.
On your way to the next boss you will get to practice some mechanics for the final fight. You will get a prompt on the screen stating “The Azure Blight is claiming a host!“. One of your party members is now possessed by the Blight, we don’t know who yet though. Selene will shortly reveal who the host has claimed. A dark, oozing energy will appear on the claimed player, if you are targeted, you need to get to one of the bright rune markings on the ground and synergize to get rid of the Blight.
If you wait too long before synergizing at a rune, a Lurcher will spawn from you and start attacking the party.
Final Boss: Maarselok

The final boss in Lair of Maarselok is what this dungeon has been leading up to. Maarselok will start with 50% health since we’ve already damaged him in previous boss battles.
Overview:
- The tank should stand on one side facing Maarselok’s head to the side, the rest of the group should stand on the other side of the dragon to avoid nasty AOEs, cone attacks and his charge.
- Maarselok will charge in the direction of the tank, this will one-shot any other player. This is why it’s important that the group stays away from the tank.
- Block when he is performing his sweeping breath, he will spray fire from one side to the other covering the entire platform.
- Cleanse yourself by using one of the runes if you are claimed as a host (dark energy will emanate from you).
Positioning
The key to this fight is executing proper positioning. There will be lots of AOEs and nasty attacks from Maarselok, make sure your positioning is good or there will be too much chaos.
The tank should stand a bit on the side of the dragon so that he turns his head towards the tank. The rest of the group can now stand on the other side of the dragon, don’t get too close to his wing though as he can perform a wing swipe attack.
Mechanics
Charge
Maarselok will get up on his hind legs and prepare to charge. He will charge at the player with aggro (the tank) in a straight line until he reaches the edge of the platform. The tank can take this if you block. Any other party member will go down if hit by the charge. Make sure the group is NOT standing behind the tank when this happens.

The Blighted Host (seed)
A prompt will appear on your screen stating “The Azure Blight is claiming a host!“. At this points, someone in the group has been infected with a seed that will shortly spawn a Lurcher unless dealt with. Selene will shortly after expose which player has the seed, you will see dark energy oozing out of you if you are targeted.
The claimed player must go to one of the runes surrounding that platform and synergize in order to get rid of it. It can be a bit tricky to spot if you are targeted – you will see little black dots emanating from you, they kind of look like black feathers.

Note: Only a lit rune can be used to cleanse the seed.
Sweeping Breath
Maarselok will turn his head to the side and start spraying fire, he will cover the entire platform so there is nowhere to hide. You can either roll-dodge straight through it when it comes at you, or you can simply block.

Adds
Azureblight Wyrms will spawn throughout the fight, it’s helpful if the tank can pull them in by the boss so that they die from AOEs. The damage dealers might need to halt damage on the boss and deal with adds if they start overwhelming you.
AOEs
Throughout the fight, Maarselok will hit the tank with several different AOEs, most of them can easily be avoided by the group just by staying away from the tank.
The Unrelenting Shout (like in skyrim ๐ ) will be a powerful cone attack directed at the tank. The tank should stay still and block to avoid group members being hit by this.
The headbutt is a little trickier as it covers a large area. Maarselok will swipe the area in front of him with his head. If you are a caster, just make sure to stand far from Maarselok and you will be fine. Melee damage dealers need to be ready to step out of any AOE coming at them.

If you stand too close to his wing, he might perform a wing swipe attack on you, so stay clear of the wings (except tank, you’ll be fine).
Maarselok will also put his head up and shoot fireballs on the ground, these are regular simple AOEs that you just need to step out of.
Final thoughts on the last boss: Stay out of AOEs and avoiding the charge attack is key to winning this fight. It’s very important that the tank keeps to the side and doesn’t run around. If your tank moves around too much you will wipe. By having the tank stand still it will be much easier for the rest of the group to figure out where to stand in order to avoid all the nasty attacks.
Tank – there is nothing in this fight that can one-shot you so long as you keep your block up, so no need to run around.
